Cleaning your Roofs is an often overlooked job, but certainly not one that should be ignored. If you’ve noticed your Roofs are clogged or the waterflow doesn’t seem right. Now might be the right time to clean your Roofs. We would recommend you get your Roofs cleaning at least once a year.

When is the best time to clean Roofs?

You can get your Roofs cleaned professionally at any time of the year. Due to the seasons however, there are some prime times. You can get your Roofs cleaning at the beginning of spring, to clear out any mess from the previous year. Or, if you’re really on it, get them cleaned at the end of Autumn.

Why clean your Roofs in the first place?

A build up of debris and rubbish in your Roofing can lead to property damage. The purpose of your Roofing is to take away the rainfall from your roof to the nearest drainage system. If your Roofing is blocked, that water will find it’s way out to unwanted areas of your property. Such as running down your exterior walls and into the base of your property.

Pitched Roof

A pitched roof will usually mean 2 gutter runs along the main roof, one at the front, and one at the back, if you have guttering along the side elevation then you need to pick another roof option.

Hipped Roof

A hipped roof will normally slope down on all 4 sides of the building, meaning you would have 3 gutter runs on an end of terraced or semi detached property and 4 gutter runs on a detached.

Gable Roof

A gable fronted roof will mean two gutter runs still, but rather than front and back gutters, will have gutter runs down each side of the property

Part Gable Roof

A part gable will usually have a long run at the back and then 2 to 3 shorter runs at the front depending on whether or not the gable potrudes from the front of the building line.
